Scripting

Scripting our piece

When it came to scripting our piece we had a vague idea of what kind of thing needed to be mentioned. For our piece we did not have a script, rather than a bullet point of things we should say.
The part of our piece that was scripted the most was the voice overs with Alisha and I talking.

We knew that is had to involve information like
  • That we walk this way at the same time almost everyday. To outline the fact that this was a random and unexpected dissapearance
  • Some mention of how nice she was to draw sympathy and acknowledge that there would be no motive behind the kidnapping, at least none known to the characters. Hinting at a possible chance of Yasmin having hidden issues and problems
  • That we went to the mothers house and then to the police
  • That she had issues with her father , and he is an ambiguous character
When it came to us filming in the dark for the video phone footage we had a very loose idea of what we wanted to say. We just wanted clips of us having fun, so we just did our normal stuff but exaggerated our emotions and voices. We also made sure that we filmed ourself saying goodbye to Yasmin. Which is lucky we did because when we decided to have a black screen and speech at the beginning it came in handy and gave our movie opening a good start.

Because our P.I did not speak we did not have a script for him. However the reason we did not have him speak was because it would give away the age of out character but even though you would find out later in the film we did not want to give it away straight away to aid build the suspencion .
